Services

  • Getting a green lawn for your home isn’t as easy as simply watering it. No other service is likely to have as big an impact on the color and health of your grass as properly fertilizing your lawn – but it can be tough to get lawn fertilization right on your own. Fertilizer helps your grass stay healthy by promoting new leaf and root growth. Depending on your lawn’s grass type, soil quality, and your local growing conditions, your lawn will have a unique set of fertilization needs. With lawn fertilization services from Freedom Turf Solutions, your lawn will get all of the nutrients it needs to thrive.

    • Every lawn has its own, unique fertilization needs. Thankfully, proper lawn fertilization is easy with the help of a professional lawn fertilization company like Freedom Turf Solutions. We’ll customize a fertilization plan that gives your lawn the right nutrients on the right schedule, ensuring lush, green growth.

  • Giving attention to weed control means working to prevent it from happening in the first place. A lawn that is properly maintained and robust will also help in the prevention of diseases and pest infestations.

  • One of the best ways to manage lawn diseases and fungus is to prevent it from happening in the first place. That’s why it is important to have a full-service lawn plan along with any recommended specialized services to make your lawn as strong as possible, so it can withstand stresses from lawn disease and fungus. Not only do we assess your grass’s unique needs, but offer you advice and recommendations along with properly timed applications to help it stay healthy throughout the seasons.

  • Yard drainage prevents soil erosion. When it rains heavily (or even when you let your sprinkler run too long), the soil is naturally affected. By installing drainage, we can better control the long-term quality of your lawn.

  • When soil becomes compacted, the lawn struggles to take in oxygen, water, and critical nutrients needed to grow properly. A well-aerated lawn, on the other hand, gives the plants a better chance to absorb nutrients and develop stronger roots. In the same way that farmers plow and turn over a field every year, your lawn needs to have the soil conditions enhanced through aeration. This service should happen during the summer.

  • Alex will guide you in choosing the right seed mixture for your lawn and ensure your lawn is properly prepped. Seeding grass promotes strong roots and thick, beautiful turf. A beautiful lawn starts with high-quality grass seed and professional seeding. This service should happen in the fall.

  • Covering your existing lawn with sod or pieces of turf; a layer of established grass that has been dug up with roots and some soil still attached, is rolled out and treated for it to take hold and cover your lawn.

  • Thatch retains water, creating a spongy layer on top of your soil. This layer not only reduces the amount of water and nutrients reaching the important areas of the grass plants, but also air or more importantly the oxygen that grasses use to survive.

About Us

Alex began working on golf courses in 2015 when he decided to begin his schooling for turfgrass management and horticulture technology. He graduated in 2019 from Brunswick Community College with a degree in both areas. After working 6 years in turf management, he started to see a theme in the community of folks being unhappy with their lawns and wishing it looked more on par with a golf course. After talking to locals, he came to learn that the big companies out there just weren’t cutting it. Customers were feeling unheard, they were unhappy with the product that was delivered to them, and companies were not following through with the promises made to their clients.

Alex saw an opportunity to better serve his local community by offering a high-level turf service where he and his team take the time to really understand their customers' frustrations and create a customized plan to create the lawn of their dreams. Using his Freedom Turf Solutions signature method, involving lab testing from soil samples to truly understand what your lawn needs to thrive, Alex and his team are changing lawns all over town. Alex’s black Lab, Nala, is his business partner. This two-year-old energetic companion travels with him to every job site bringing an extra layer of joy to every job.

FAQs

Do you have tips for watering my lawn?

Your lawn usually requires 1-2” of water per week, depending on factors like soil type, temperature, and humidity. We recommend long, infrequent watering (1-2 times per week). Your soil should be moist to a depth of 6-12” after a watering. For best results, water early in the morning. At midday, more water evaporates than goes into the soil. Evening watering invites trouble because plants that stay wet overnight can be more prone to developing certain diseases that thrive in moist conditions.

How often should I mow my lawn?

The best guide for mowing frequency is the growth of your grass. When lawns are actively growing it may require mowing more than once a week. To avoid stressing the grass, cut off no more than 1/3 (one-third) of the leaf blade at a time. Keep in mind that certain grasses, such as Bermuda grass, Zoysia grass, and Centipede grass, require close mowing to stay healthy. Allowing these grasses to grow too high will increase thatch on your lawn.

How does a healthy lawn benefit the environment?

Benefits of a healthy lawn include erosion control & runoff prevention, water purification, air purification, and oxygen generation.

How long until people and animals can utilize the lawn after spraying or treatment?

Stay off the treated area for at least 48 hours to ensure everyone’s safety and to let the treatment properly work into the lawn.

What is Aeration?

Aeration involves perforating the soil with small holes to allow air, water, and nutrients to penetrate the grassroots. This helps the roots grow deeply and produce a stronger, more lush lawn. The main reason for aerating is to alleviate soil compaction.
